F=m×a Quesiton

A 65 kg cyclist on a 15 kg bicycle applies a total force from his legs of 200 N. What is his acceleration?
F=mxa
We had better use a=F/m
a = 200/80 = 2.5 m/s/s

Note that we needed the total mass - both the bike and the rider are accelerating. Both require a force to do this.
