Weight

Most people get muddled on this, so be careful. Weight is the force due to gravity on a mass.

Mass is just a measure of how much matter a body has. For this reason, your mass is the same on Earth or the Moon, or even in space. Your weight will be completely different!

Weight is defined by the equation:

weight (N) = mass (kg) × gravitational field strength (N/kg or m/s²)
W = m × g
