GCSE Maths

Subtracting Fractions

See if you can follow this one: 5/12 - 1/6

We must (1) get them in common denominators, (2) subtract their numerators, (3) simplify the answer, if possible.

5/12 - 1/6 = 5/12 - 2/12 = 3/12 = 1/4

This is a little dull, but with practice you'll do fine!
