AQA Science: Glossary - Ordered Variables
|
You may sometimes come across this term. It is a type of categoric variable that can be ranked.
For example, the size of marble chips could be described as large, medium or small.
e.g. Chris's categoric variables of the sizes of family cars is also an ordered variable as they can be ranked in terms of their size but without doing so in an exact way, i.e. it isn't necessarily always the case that the next size up is larger by the same amount as the previous one, and so on.
