AQA Science: Glossary - Variables

Variables are the things that we change, or decide not to change, in an experiment. In other words, they are the very things we are investigating!

There are seven types of variables that you should know about and it will take some time for you to become familiar with them, so take your time. Here they are:
  • categoric
  • continuous
  • control
  •  
  • dependent / independent
  • discrete
  • ordered
