Apostrophe Examples

?

Sometimes more than one letter is missing. This is still indicated by a single apostrophe!

e.g. can't = cannot, we've = we have

Here are some further examples:

ContractionLong Forme.g.
'dhad / wouldI'd eat that!
'llwillHe'll catch me!
'mamI'm only fifteen.
n'tnotAndy can't walk.
'sis / hasRosie's a dog.

Apostrophes are also often used (more like abused!) when indicating possession.
