GCSE German

Listening & Responding Exam

The listening exam in German usually lasts between 30 and 50 minutes. It consists of a question paper with some questions in German and some in English and a tape or CD which will be played for you.

Don't Panic!

This exam often makes pupils nervous because they panic when they hear another language. Actually, it is not difficult to gain good marks if you know a few tricks of the trade.

Before the exam you may be allowed to read through the questions. The tape/CD will then start and you will listen to the recording. Each recording will be played at least twice and there will be pauses to give you time to answer the questions.
