Computers can be connected to three different types of device:

Input Devices

Used to get data into the computer, such as keyboards, digital cameras, mice and microphones.

Storage Devices

Used to store data once it has been put into the computer, such as floppy disk drives, hard disks and CDs.

Output Devices

Used to display data that is in the computer, such as VDUs (monitors), printers and speakers.
