Hospital Uses

Radioactive sources are used in hospitals for many purposes. They are used in treatments of illnesses, and for imaging inside the body.

Most people will have heard of radiotherapy. This is a treatment used in hospitals to help destroy cancer cells. High energy gamma rays are concentrated on the cancerous cells to kill them:
