Apostrophe Examples

Sometimes more than one letter is missing. This is still indicated by a single apostrophe!

e.g. can't = cannot, we've = we have

Here are some further examples:

Contraction	Long Form	e.g.
'd	had / would	I'd eat that!
'll	will	He'll catch me!
'm	am	I'm only fifteen.
n't	not	Andy can't walk.
's	is / has	Rosie's a dog.
're	are	We're going on holiday.
've	have	I've had enough of contractions!

Apostrophes are also often used (more like abused!) when indicating possession.
