Possession Questions

GCSE English Pencil

For the sentence below, the possession has been correctly included.

1. The bird's beak was yellow.

Let us re-write this sentence to refer to a group of birds:
The birds' beaks were yellow.

The ' indicates something about all the beaks. The second s is added in each case to indicate there is more than one beak and bird.

For the sentences below, write them correctly:

2. "Strawberry's - only £2 a punnet."
3. "The armies tanks had run out of fuel."

For these two, correct the possession, and re-write them to be about more than one thing:

4. The roads surface was cracking up under the weight of the lorry.
5. The pupils pen ran out before the end of the exam.
