AQA Science: Glossary - Data & Datum

Information, either qualitative or quantitative, that has been collected. e.g. data can be collected for the volume of a gas or the type of rubber.

N.B. Qualitative information is essentially the "qualities" of something - e.g. the dragon was big and green. Quantitative information has numerical values - e.g. the dragon's mass was 1200 kg.

e.g. Bob, Becky and Bill's data was a collection of measurements to do with the internal shape of a box.
